Langage ou musique comme medium de la tragédie? Un changement dans l’interprétation moderne

Abstract 

This paper investigates whether music, instead of text, is the medium of tragedy and it focuses on the change brought by modern interpretation, which highlights ritual aspects of the tragic play. It is in fact also possible to underline how tragic language may be expressively articulated and to point out the function of silence as medium of the persecuted hero.
