Abstract 

Can the Caesar of Shakespeare’s tragedy be considered a tyrant? And did Brutus, the most eminent among the conspirators, love his victim? The psychology of the main characters of the play is analyzed in the light of ancient sources used by Shakespeare and framed in a broader critical discourse.


Il Cesare della tragedia di Shakespeare si può considerare un tiranno? E Bruto, il più eminente dei congiurati, amava la sua vittima? La psicologia dei principali personaggi dell’opera è analizzata alla luce delle fonti antiche utilizzate da Shakespeare e inquadrata in un discorso critico più ampio.
