Abstract

The paper is focused on the question of the so called “contemporaneity” of the Greek classics. An answer can arise by reversing the perspective starting from the materiality of the current scene and from the different directorial readings to make the texts speak “according to us”. We propose two representations that are perfectly antithetical from the productive point of view, of the acting techniques and of the performative space. But with the same common objective: to reach Oedipus by staging not his tragic, personal story, but the “myth” to which he belongs.

Il problema della “contemporaneità” dei classici greci si pone rovesciandone la prospettiva partendo dalla materialità della scena attuale e dalle differenti letture registiche, per arrivare a fare parlare i testi “secondo noi”. Si propongono due rappresentazioni perfettamente antitetiche l’una all’altra dal punto di vista produttivo, delle tecniche attorali e dello spazio performativo. Ma col medesimo comune obiettivo: raggiungere Edipo mettendo in scena non la sua tragica, personale, vicenda ma il “mito” a cui appartiene.
